George Owino, Founder & Director

Welcome to Georges Online Academy!

My name is George Owino, and I’m the founder and director of this platform. My passion for education and mentorship has shaped my journey as a tutor, educator, and now an online education leader.

I began teaching in 2015, working as a Mathematics and Chemistry teacher at Star of Hope Secondary School until 2018. In 2019, I continued in the same subjects at Sir Newton High School, where I further refined my teaching approach. Between 2020 and 2024, I focused on homeschooling, working closely with individual learners to deliver personalized and supportive instruction.

In January 2024, I took my passion global by launching Georges Online Academy, offering one-on-one and group tutoring to students in Minnesota and California (U.S.A.), Canada, and Kenya. My goal is to help students discover their potential and strive for a brighter future through quality, flexible, and student-centered learning.

At Georges Online Academy, we believe education should inspire, not just instruct. That’s why we combine academic excellence with encouragement, real-world relevance, and a nurturing learning environment.

One quote that continues to inspire me is by Peter Brougham:

“Education makes a people easy to lead but difficult to drive: easy to govern, but impossible to enslave.”

This powerful truth fuels our commitment to helping students grow into independent thinkers and lifelong learners.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy community service, traveling, and spending time in nature, all of which remind me of the importance of growth, curiosity, and giving back.
